Pétion-Ville est sous la tension depuis le week-end écoulé. Le gang « Kraze Baryè » a attaqué le quartier de Marlique le vendredi 17 mars dernier. Le bilan compte au moins 2 morts et 19 voitures incendiées. Le samedi 18 et le dimanche 19 mars, le gang a attaqué les quartiers Meyotte, Diègue, Métivier. Le lundi 20 mars, 9 personnes ont été tuées par le gang au Carrefour Cageau et Tunel à Pétion-Ville.
Cette situation pousse les gens à fuir ces quartiers sous la menace du gang. Pendant ce temps, le gouvernement est resté totalement indifférent par rapport à la situation des résidents de Pétion-Ville. La ministre de la sécurité publique Emmelie Prophète demande au peuple de se défendre lui-même.
