Dominique DUPUY, ambassadrice et déléguée permanente d’Haïti auprès de l’UNESCO manifeste sa joie de l’acceptation de la chaire en histoire et patrimoine à l’Université d’Etat d’Haïti par l’Unesco. Le projet a été soumis à l’UNESCO depuis avril 2021, dit-elle dans une note.
Dominique DUPUY se réjouit de l’acceptation de ce projet qui a été officiellement soumis le 29 avril 2021, sous le leadership de la Délégation permanente d’Haïti auprès de l’UNESCO et de la Commission nationale haïtienne de coopération avec l’UNESCO.
Cette Chaire vise à développer les connaissances et les compétences académiques, scientifiques et techniques en histoire et patrimoine afin de renforcer les actions de l’État et des communautés dans ces domaines Le programme UNITWIN/Chaires UNESCO se donne pour objectif d’établir des liens de partage de connaissances entre établissements d’enseignement supérieur et Instituts de recherche du monde entier par le biais d’une coopération Nord-Sud-Sud. Il crée des conditions de travail sur des thématiques complexes en mobilisant universités, étudiants, chercheurs, communautés locales et autorités politiques, précise-t-elle dans la note.
La Délégation permanente d’Haïti auprès de l’UNESCO félicite les différentes institutions nationales et internationales impliquées dans ce projet qui a pour vocation de devenir un véritable centre de recherche et d’enseignement en Haïti et dans la Caraïbe.
