Selon un scoop du journaliste Windy Phele, le dossier de Samir Handal a été entendu par des juges turcs et l’avocat de ce dernier a pu plaider en faveur de la non-extradition de son client vers Haïti.
Au cours de l’audience, l’avocat a expliqué la violation des droits humains dans les prisons haïtiennes afin de convaincre les juges turcs de ne pas remettre Samir Handal à Haïti au risque que ses droits soient violés.
Les juges n’ont pas émis de décisions définitives et ont ajourné l’audience pour le mois d’avril. D’ici là, Samir Handal reste incarcéré.
Au cours de trois mois d’incarcération du prévenu, les autorités haïtiennes ont encore le temps de tenter à nouveau de mieux formuler la demande d’extradition. Vont-elles essayer et tenter à nouveau?
