Après l’arrestation de l’ancien sénateur de l’ouest John Joël Joseph, l’un des suspects dans l’assassinat du président Jovenel Moïse, le président du sénat de la République a adressé une correspondance au ministre de l’Intérieur et des Collectivités territoriales, Liszt Quitel pour l’annoncer que le Sénat entend mener une enquête suite aux informations selon lesquelles l’ancien sénateur John Joël Joseph aurait en sa possession deux passeports au moment de son arrestation.
“La clameur publique rapporte que l’ancien sénateur John Joël Joseph appréhendé à la Jamaïque en compagnie des membres de sa famille serait détenteur de deux passeports dont l’un en son nom propre et l’autre contenant les mêmes traits et les mêmes informations sous un autre patronyme ” , lit-on dans cette correspondance du sénat de la République adressée au ministre liszt Quitel.
“A cet effet , le Sénat de la République souhaite faire le jour sur cette affaire et vous demande de bien vouloir instruire le Directeur général de l’Immigration afin de faciliter une commission sénatoriale, comme c’est toujours le cas dans le passé, de vérifier ces informations. Cette séance de travail est programmée pour le jeudi 20 janvier 2022 à compter de midi à la Direction générale de l’Immigration et de l’Emigration”, peut-on lire dans cette correspondance.
