Le lundi 3 mai 2021, la Cellule contre Enlèvement de la Direction Centrale de la Police Judiciaire a mené une intervention à Canaan 50 et a obtenu la libération du docteur Jenny Édouard Pierre-Lys et de son fils Noha-Sacha Pierre-Lys âgé de neuf ans. Responsable du département VIH et Santé Communautaire de l’hôpital Saint-Damien, Docteur Pierre-Lys a reçu la solidarité de l’Organisation Nos Petits Frères et Soeurs qui avait fermé les portes de toutes ses institutions dont l’Hôpital Saint-Damien. Les ravisseurs avaient fixé la rançon à un million de dollars.
