La sélection nationale de Football haïtienne a joué son deuxième match dans le cadre de la compétition Gold Cup de la Concacaf des équipes de l’Amérique du nord, de l’Amérique Centrale et de la Caraïbe. Malheureusement, Haïti a succombé pendant le match devant le Mexique qui a remporté la rencontre par 3 buts à 1.
Pour le Mexique, les buteurs sont respectivement Martin à la 46e minute, un autogoal d’Haïti à la 56e minute et S.Jimenez à la 83e minute. Pour Haiïti, c’est Jean-Jacques qui a réduit le score à la 78e minute alors que le score était 2 contre 1. Une défaite qui a rendu les choses beaucoup plus difficiles pour nos grenadiers en cette phase de poule.
Dans leur poule (B), Le Mexique est en première position avec six points tandis qu’Haïti se retrouve toujours en deuxième position avec ses trois points gagnés lors de sa victoire 2-1 pour son premier match contre le Qatar. Tandis que le Honduras et le Qatar sont derniers du groupe B avec un point chacun à l’issue de leur rencontre nulle pour leur deuxième match. Rien n’est encore gagné pour Haïti car tout se joue sur le dernier match. Les joueurs de la Perle des Antilles disputeront leur dernier match de poule le dimanche 2 juillet 2023, 21 h.
